Moonsilver's Dream
Saturday October 15, 2005
I love to watch TV. I don't care what anybody says, it's cool. Doesn't matter what mood I am in, I can find something on TV to watch. I like comedies alot. I like to watch comedy central, South Park, Mad TV, the movies, etc. But what I don't like, in fact I hate it is when they take a show like the new David Spade show or the Dave Chappelle and play the same show over and over again. Even months later, I can tune in to one of these shows and see the same one I last saw. What are these shows one hit wonders or what? I just don't get it. I got tivo just recently and I love it! Now there is always something on to watch. TV is kinda important to me, I am disabled and don't get around very well. It keeps me from being bored out of my mind. You see, I wasn't always like this. 4 years ago I got sick with some mysterious illness and I spent 11 days in the hospital. God, I was so freaking sick, I thought I was surely going to die but I didn't. I spent the next 3 years getting sicker and sicker. My body was full of fluid and I was in pain constantly. I couldn't stand to be touched even. It really was a bad time. Then one night about a year ago, the shit hit the fan and I took a nose dive. Back to the hospital I went. Since I am rather obese anyway, the hospital in my small town wasn't able to take care of me, run tests or what ever. So they took me in an ambulance to another hospital in a nearby larger city. The doctor there said the only thing he could think of would be surgery to see what was going on inside me. Well, I am terrified of hospitals and being put to sleep but this time, I had nothing to lose and hopfully everything to gain. I knew I was going to die for sure if something didn't happen soon. So anyway, it's a year later. I feel much better, hell at one time I couln't even hold my head up by myself, but I am still unable to walk without my walker and I can't do that for very far, less than 100 feet. So that's why TV is kinda important to me. I am still trying to be active and go out places but that requires an assistant all the time. I hate to impose on my caregivers too much. They already do almost everything for me. I mean I do what I can, there is just so many things that I am unable to do and all.

Ok, now you’ve met Jerry and Cesar, next meet Otis Dean. Otis was a rescue. His former owners were moving and couldn’t take him with them and their parents didn’t want to keep him. They were going to have him put to sleep. He was about a year old, beautiful black Lab mix of some sort and they named him after my oldest son, not the whole name, just the second name, Dean. It meant something to me, my son passed away five years ago, died of a drug overdose at the age of 18 years. His middle name was Dean, so I couldn’t let them put him to sleep. I went and got him and he has been with us now for 3 years. He was a little hard to get used to, him to us and us to him. We had some pretty hairy moments until we learned how he was. Otis doesn’t like to be put on chains or lines outside. He prefers to stroll outside free and unfettered. He is very forceful when you try to put him on a line. He is also very large, so he tends to go where he pleases. For the most part Otis is pretty cool. He is usually very friendly, we laugh about the way when someone comes to visit, Otis likes to sit on their feet, so they will pet him. He loves to petted and he loves to play catch, not fetch, catch. He likes to catch frisbees and sticks and balls or anything you throw at him. Otis will eat anything too, fruit, veggies, meat, he ain’t picky at all. Cesar is the same way. Both dogs are piglets. Jerry’s way too picky, only meats and cheeses for her. She won’t eat chips or crackers or popcorn either but Otis and Cesar will. While Otis is of course a member of the entire family, his favorite family member is my youngest son, Shawn. He spends most of his time with Shawn, just hanging out. Otis follows Shawn everywhere he goes, he really loves Shawn. I am so glad, I know Otis protects my boy no matter what.

Jerry is another member of our family. She is a 6 year old mixed Lab. She has a little bit of German Shepard in her, which gives her a two toned look, brown with light brown. She has an adorable brown nose that matches her perfectly. She one of the best dogs I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and living with. She was born Aug. 1, 1999, the same day as Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead, so we named her after him. I don’t know of many female dogs named for Jerry, but I think he would like it and I know he would love her. Everyone who meets her seems to like her, even cats. I’ve had people tell me how their cat hates dogs and yet within a few minutes the cat and Jerry are getting along great, either playing or sleeping next to one another. Jerry loves to travel but most of all Jerry loves her PawPaw, he’s human, and my fiance. She follows him every where he goes. We laugh about it all the time. Brian will be walking through the living room with Jerry dead on his butt and then he stops and Jerry’s nose is right in Brian’s butt. It’s pretty cool when we are out at a festival, cause she walks right with him and doesn’t need a leash. She looks like she’s on a leash even when she’s not. Jerry is very sweet and very spoiled. She will not sit on the floor, she must have her place on the sofa and when we go through the drive-thru, she expects to get either a cheese burger or some chicken nuggets. She hates vegetables and fruits, loves cheese and meats. She doesn’t eat chips or pretzels or popcorn, doesn’t like them. All the other dogs will eat most anything but not Jerry She’s too picky. When she was a puppy she used to chew up things, but not just anything, she always chewed up things that belonged to me, not Brian’s or Shawn’s things, just mine. I was so glad when she stopped that puppy chewing stuff. One time when she was just a couple of months old, a friend of ours was in the back counting his cash when Jerry grabbed a hundred dollar bill and took off with it. Now the guy the bill belonged to was no small person, being 6 foot tall and all. Well he took off after Jerry and she ran as fast as she could down the hallway and into the living room. She ran through the room and around the coffee table and guess who she brought the bill to? Me We still laugh about that today. Jerry is so smart and she brings us so much joy. We are very blessed to have her as a member of our family.

I am Moonsilver and I am proud to say that I have a very special friend. He came to me when he was just 6 weeks old, he only weighed a couple of pounds. He told me immediately that his name was to be Cesar. He is half miniature Doberman Pincer and half Chihuahua. His Father, Tyson is a min pin(miniature Doberman) and very handsome. That’s how Cesar got his last name, MacTyson, son of Tyson. His beloved Mother is a beautiful light tan Chihuahua, named Lisa. I think he gets his sweet disposition from her. His Father is very brave and so buff as he struts his stuff around. Most Fathers don’t get along with their Sons very much but I guess Cesar and Tyson are different, cause they seem to really like each other. In fact this summer, Tyson got into trouble because he wanted to go play with Cesar. He was taking his morning walk and he got away, to go to where Cesar was. It was kinda weird. We were all staying in a motel but we had left our dogs in our RV. Well the next morning the front desk calls to ask if we had some dogs in there and I said yes. So then the guy says somebody saw my little Cesar and he was running loose I was so scared and worried, just like losing one of my kids and believe me I know how that feels in the worst way. But that’s another story for later. I flew out the door to look for my little tootsie roll maker and there he was, safe and sound. It turns out it wasn’t Cesar, it was his Father, Tyson. He got away from his walker, Doug and went to look for Cesar, who was in the front parking lot. He is now 1 year and 6 months old. He looks like a 6 pound Doberman. He is so likeable and so loveable that most everybody that meets him falls in love with him, especially women. And so he earned his middle name...Romeo. Wait, that’s not his whole name. Last summer, he earned the name Houdini by escaping from the RV. He headed for a nearby golf course. He ran and ran for over an hour before we even knew he was gone and then we had to figure out where he went. Lucky for me, I didn’t even know he was missing until he was found. I would have been devastated to lose him like that. He’s my little sweet pea and a little tootsie roll maker, he’s Cesar Romeo Houdini (Sweet Pea Tootsie Roll Maker) MacTyson, the tiny Roman King The name just keep getting bigger even when to dog doesn’t. Cesar has several step siblings; there’s Jerry, Otis, Mumu, Smokey, Cody and Shawn.

I guess most everybody starts out alittle slow and mostly they have a hard time trying to come up with a place to start. I heard alot about blogs on TV and thought I would love to do it but I didn't have too easy an access to a computer and the internet. See, I was using webtv to get online but the stupid things kept breaking down on me and I was always trying to go to some web site and getting the message about how the site requested uses the wrong information or something, so the other day I did something about it; I bought a laptop! Wow, what a difference! I've been having a blast on it for hours and hours. Who knows maybe I will finally learn how to type. God knows I have tried for years to learn how. At any rate, it doesn't matter. I just need to come up with some good ideas. Maybe I could talk about ABC's daytime soaps or my collections of Barbies and Matchbox cars and Grateful Dead Bears. I love to collect hippie stuff of all kinds, like incense burners or tapistries and also I have a nice collection of crystals too. I love crystals and the color purple. In my living room I have a large chair that is my chair, its colored purple. I love purple and blue.
